James Narendra Bondla has been a Gerda Henkel Foundation fellow at the Frobenius Institute since October 2023. His postdoctoral project entitled "Cultural ecology of millet cultivation among the Tigrai of Northern Ethiopia and the Koya of South India: A comparative ethnography" will complement the ongoing projects of the Millets Research Network. He holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Hyderabad in India. Since 2011, he has taught at the University of Mekelle, Ethiopia, where he most recently headed the doctoral programme at the Department of Social Anthropology.
