The online workshop ‘Histories of Anthropology in Ethiopia’ takes place on 20–21 August 2026.
It builds on the conference panel of the same name held at the International Conference of Ethiopian Studies in September 2025 and serves as a prelude to the publication of the same title, featuring 18 contributions by Ethiopian and international social anthropologists. The organisers are Hanna Getachew (Hawassa University, Ethiopia), Marion Langumier (Université Paris Nanterre) and Sophia Thubauville (Frobenius Institute, Frankfurt am Main).
